Camisano Vicentino (VI), March 25, 2025 – Cereal Docks announces the acquisition of Prista Commerce Ltd, a Bulgarian company specializing in sunflower seed processing, which becomes an integral part of the Vicenza-based Group, a leader in primary agro-industrial processing.
With this operation, Cereal Docks Group — led by the Fanin family — takes an important step forward in implementing its 2025–2027 Industrial Plan, which aims to expand its presence in the food ingredient sector, leveraging its know-how to seize new growth opportunities in international markets through both industrial development and targeted acquisitions.
Prista Commerce specializes in processing dehulled sunflower seeds for the production of protein flours, suitable for numerous food applications, as well as shelled sunflower seeds for protein snacks and toppings for salads and desserts. Founded in 2011, the company currently employs around twenty people and has a turnover of approximately 10 million euros. Its plant is located in Ruse, in the Danube Plain — Bulgaria’s main sunflower-growing region.
The acquisition of Prista Commerce is fully aligned with Cereal Docks’ strategy to strengthen its role across the entire agri-food value chain, consolidating raw material sourcing capabilities through partnerships with farmers, while directly managing the transformation and distribution of new plant-based ingredients.
The latest innovation is HeliaPro, the new sunflower-based protein flour recently launched on the market. Leveraging Cereal Docks’ long-standing expertise in processing plant-based raw materials, HeliaPro stands out for its high protein content (50%), absence of common allergens, and versatility in various food applications. Ideal for plant-based, gluten-free and clean-label products, it can be used in bread, pasta, snacks, protein bars, veggie burgers, sauces and spreads.
“I am confident this acquisition will contribute positively to the evolution of our Group by expanding our product portfolio and strengthening our position as ingredient suppliers for the food industry,” says Giacomo Fanin, Business Director of Cereal Docks Group. “This step brings us even closer to our goal of overseeing the entire value chain — from seed to ingredient — through an integrated approach that combines quality, safety and innovation”.
The integration of Prista Commerce into the Group will allow full internalization of all production processes within the HeliaPro product portfolio, paving the way for further industrial and logistical synergies at a European level and advancing an increasingly integrated agri-food model, from field to table.
