The Agronomic Department of Cereal Docks was established to support farmers in tackling the demanding challenges of a sector facing numerous environmental, economic, and social issues.
This commitment is brought to life through agronomic advice, training activities offered by the Mantegna Academy, joint projects on regenerative agriculture, collaborative crop planning, and ongoing dialogue about current events, innovation trends, and developments in the industrial crop market.
White corn, yellow corn, waxy corn, rapeseed, soft wheat, barley, soybeans, and sunflower (organic farming included).
Pacchetto Plus is the value proposition that Cereal Docks offers to its partner farmers within its agricultural supply chains, aimed at rewarding quality while providing security, profitability, and support services. By joining Pacchetto Plus, farms can rely on guaranteed procurement and market placement of their products, receive attractive incentives, and benefit from the agronomic support of the Agronomic Department.
Pacchetto Plus ensures farmers receive attractive opportunities year-round: crops are divided between autumn-winter and spring sowing, allowing them to take full advantage of the benefits of proper crop rotation. This helps protect the soil and maximize income.
Cereal Docks has launched the Quality Plus white corn supply chain, offering attractive conditions to agricultural companies and contractors who excel in maintaining the highest quality standards for this crop, through the application of good agricultural practices.
To meet the demands of the agri-food industry, Cereal Docks promotes the national sunflower supply chain. Sunflower seeds produce oils, flours, and lecithins, which are essential components in a wide range of food products. Additionally, the characteristics of sunflower align with the need to reduce water consumption, preserve soil fertility, and protect biodiversity through crop rotations, offering economic opportunities and security to agricultural businesses.
With the 3 A+ Project, Cereal Docks invites farmers to join the national second-harvest soy supply chain, which is both traceable and sustainable. The project offers incentives to agricultural producers who help promote agronomic practices such as no-till planting, strip tillage, or reduced tillage, ensuring sustainability without compromising production, while maximizing the profitability of the farm.
Second-harvest soy can be planted following rapeseed, which serves as an excellent renewal crop. Rapeseed is adaptable to various environmental conditions and offers a valuable alternative to the main crops in rotation with soy. It provides winter soil cover, adhering to the principles of conservation agriculture.
"The over 250 hectares of arable land and vineyards became part of the Cereal Docks Group in 2021, when the Group decided to establish an open-air laboratory for innovative projects in regenerative agriculture (link to Nurture the Future). This space is dedicated to experimenting with low environmental impact agronomic techniques, such as no-till farming and the use of cover crops, all while preserving soil fertility, biodiversity, and natural resources.
Ca’ Felicita is where Cereal Docks promotes a new vision of agriculture that aims to meet human needs without depleting future resources. At Ca’ Felicità, the primary asset to be preserved is the fertility of the land. This new project draws its inspiration from the close connection with nature, the land, and agriculture, which have always been the common thread running through Cereal Docks’ history."
"The Ca’ Felicita farm is also the venue for InnCampo, a technical and educational event dedicated to the agricultural sector, organized in collaboration with leading technical partners in the fields of nutrition, technology, and agricultural machinery.
Today, the Italian agri-food sector is facing significant challenges related to the protection of natural resources, climate change, and the enhancement of national production.
Developing an adaptive yet innovative approach is essential to tackling these challenges. InnCampo helps meet this need by offering an event focused on exploring and deepening knowledge of techniques and technologies that can create a positive impact on both the environment and profitability, the key factors to merging competitiveness with sustainability."
