Cereal Docks Group is once again committed to the development of innovative plant-based ingredients, designed to meet the growing demand for plant-based products with high nutritional and quality properties.
An important agreement was recently signed with the international company Sigma Process Technologies, specialized in engineering services and technology solutions for the food industry, with the aim of carrying out a feasibility study for the development of an innovative plant for the production of new proteins from vegetable matrix.
In the preliminary phase, the Sigma Process Technologies team will carry out basic engineering activities to evaluate the characteristics of the plant such as the concept, processes, layout, main technical equipment and automation. This phase will be useful for a more in-depth analysis of the different aspects related to the industrialization process.
"This is a project to expand our product portfolio in the field of innovative plant-based proteins - explains Luigi Nataloni, Operational & Business Development Group Director -. We intend to study new ways to enhance one of our traditional plant matrices thanks to an innovative production process that will increase application opportunities especially for nutrition and functional foods".
"Our desire is to achieve even greater integration, both upstream, by enhancing our agricultural supply chains, throughout the supply chain, to provide the industry with products that are in line with consumers wishes and expectations. This feasibility study is a first step in this direction: in the coming months, thanks to the experience and know-how of our Sigma PT partners, we will have the opportunity to acquire the data and the necessary information to evaluate all these opportunities".
